Fashion is a form of artistic expression in and of itself, however it’s rare to see actual pieces of art being worn. But, who says art masterpieces are meant for walls only?
In a bold move, JYORK takes art out of the museums and onto swimwear, bralettes and bodysuits, resulting in beach-to-street wearable works of art. Designer Jessica York took an unpredictable watercolor palette and spun it into the hand painted special-edition Solana collection.
York hand paints each design in acrylic on canvas, spilling her imagination in bouts of watercolor patterns. Using cool colors from deep indigo blue to pale peony pink, her work creates the illusion of stained glass. JYORK’s unique semi-abstract creations are given an added level of luxe with metallic banding.
